These days it seems that everywhere I look, I'm spotting copies of the gorgeously designed Great Food series of books, which have recently been re-released by Penguin. I've been to my local Chapters, independent book store and home goods store in the past week and I've seen these lovely things on display at each location.
Combining three of my favourite things, food, history and brilliant design, these little tomes are a collection of some of the best food writing from the past 400 years.
Seeing that I kept spotting them wherever I went, I took it as a sign that I need to grab a few copies for myself. Guess what? They're utterly delicious. In fact, I love these books so much, I'm even considering placing them in a memory-box style frame and hanging them on a wall. They are that pretty.
Naturally, I would like to give two of these books away to one lucky Family Bites reader. In order to enter, please leave a comment telling me the best book you've read this summer. For additional entries, you can "like" Family Bites on Facebook.
Winners will be announced on Monday August 15th!
Update: Congratulations to Andrea! You have won the books giveaway.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a ton of spare time to read this summer. So, I'll tell you my favorite books I've read this year (and hope that counts), which are, all books from the The Hunger Games Trilogy. Thanks for doing the giveaway! c:

The best book I've read this summer is "Maisie Dobbs" by Jaqueline Winspear. It's a mystery about a female sleuth in post World War 1 London. A great read that reminded me of Agatha Christie. I'm almost done the second book in the series.

I'm also reading "The Help" right now and really enjoying it. Before that, I read Tina Fey's autobiography called "Bossypants". I love reading books about strong female characters and it's even better when it's about a real person!

Sadly I have not read anything this summer. Normally I pick up one or two books in the culinary murder mystery series by Dianne Mott Davidson. I've been reading the adventures of Goldy the caterer for years now. It's my summer indulgence. There should still be time left in the summer to pick one up, right?

Either Water for Elephants or Unbearable Lightness - both were excellent for very different reasons. I'mn reading The Help now and it might be a contender too. This summer had been a great one for really good books.

I haven't been reading much lately...but can I say the best book of the past year? If so, then The Life of Pi. It rocked something serious.

I love these awesome sippy cups. Terrific idea with the dinosaur paper lids.
I am a bit leary of mashing citrus. Tried it once with Sangria and it was terribly bitter.
I will try again and see how it goes.
