Lots of questions land in my inbox, and no topic generates more email than the subject of parties. It thrills me when people ask for my opinions on the birthday party they are planning, the baby shower they are hosting, or for a recommendation for a good online resource for oversized balloons. I think I've been asked about it all, and while I've hesitated writing about it here too much - this is technically a food blog after all - I can't think of a better time to cover party-themed topics than now, with the winter holidays mere weeks away.
Without a doubt, in order to pull off any great party with ease you need some standard supplies. Whether it's a classic cocktail party you want to host, a sweet three-year old's birthday celebration or an outdoor Thanksgiving dinner, having the right items on hand will make it so much easier for you to execute. I like to divide the supplies needed into four categories: decor, serving supplies, food and drink and miscellaneous. Not every party requires the same items, but with a list laying in font of me, I'm often reminded of things I will need that I might otherwise forget until the last minute.
I've made my party supplies checklist into a printable for you, to help you with your holiday party planning. Feel free to use it in the way that works best for you, and if you can think of anything I may have forgotten, let me know and I'll add it to the list.

It is of great help to have a checklist on the supplies for party. I experienced something embarrassing during the 3rd birthday of my son when I found out that I forgot to buy extra paper plates. Then, I hurriedly went to a party store and bought paper plates.

Our little boy will be celebrating his 1st birthday bash and we are so excited with it. We are planning to throw a party for our special gift from heaven.
