Keeping a stash of chocolate on hand is a summer must-do in our house because of our s'more infatuation. Thanks to the fire pit we purchased last year, our s'more making days are not relegated to camping trips and cottage visits only. A long bike ride followed by an evening of s'more making is just about my most favourite way to spend a hot summer day.
This week I have a great giveaway that can get you on your way to making s'mores as well. Even better than that, is that you can also help to build a bike. Let me explain.
Cadbury is generously offering THREE of my readers a prize pack made up of assorted chocolates and candies all packaged neatly in a bike basket. The bike basket represents an initiative by Cadbury to give bicycles to folks living in rural communities of Ghana, the country where the company sources their fair trade chocolate.
We ride bicycles for fitness and fun, but in Ghana bicycles mean access to education, health care and food. Cadbury has created The Bicycle Factory campaign and to date has sent more than 9,000 bikes abroad. When you receive your prize pack you just need to go online and enter the UPC codes for your products, and each candy package represents a bike part. Together we can build a Family Bites bicycle, and I couldn't be more thrilled.

EDIT: Congratualtions to Emma, Wanda and Johanna! Winners have been notified via email. Thanks to all for enterting!
My favourite part of the summer is the beginning, when school has just finished. So may possibilities ahead, so full of promise!

That is such a cool project! And a wonderful giveaway. My favorite part about summer is that, living in Maine, it's relatively cool and there's only a few weeks a year where it's really hot and humid. I'm not a big fan of hot, hot days and lots of sunshine so Maine Summer turns out to be fabulous!

The sunshine and spending more time outside with my kids. Thanks for the giveaway.

I love this!! As a bicycle advocate (my day job) bikes are year around fun, but what I love about summer is being able to jump in the pool or run through the sprinklers with my daughter to cool off after a hot ride.

What a wonderful project! My family are huge cycling fans, they participate in the Ride for Heart and the Ride to Conquer Cancer. Even if I don't win the prize pack, I will go online and see how I can donate.
My favourite part of summer is being at the cottage. Specifically on the dock, with my morning cup of coffee. I love it when members of my family (nuclear and extended!) wander out to join me.

I love spur of the moment bonfire nights, with hot dogs and s'mores. Love that it's light later, so hanging on the patio, sipping sangria is also another fun treat!

I'm a teacher and mom to an 18 month old, so my favorite part of summer is getting to spend our days together and being amazed at how much she changes everyday.
What a great program!

I like that the city seems to slow down a bit for the summer - not as much hurry, hurry, hurry and also getting to spend more time outside.

What I look forward most to summer is the week that we get to go to the cottage, my kids love it and it creates such wonderful memories

This is so fabulous of Cadbury I love it! :)* My favorite part about summer is impromptu trips to the beach just to lay around an absorb the breeze and ocean sounds. Then the evening bonfires + smmooores!

I haven't heard about this campaign before -- what a great idea!
My favourite part of summer is the late evenings. We can pack so much more into each day, and it's lovely being outside as it cools off in the evening. Meteor showers at night are a nice bonus.

What a great campaign ... kudos to Family Bites for taking part in Cadbury's initiative.
My favourite part of summer is spending time at the cottage - particularly an early morning paddle in my kayak around the lake. I love watching the mist rise off the water, drifting silently along watching mother loon with her baby...and enjoying my thermos of coffee.

My favorite part about summer is no socks. I detest socks. It's so nice to feel warm sunshine

The pool, of course! Absolutely necessary to survive the midwest heat.

Love riding my bike everywhere - for errands, visiting friends, and just enjoying a ride about town.

I am figuring it out how to make a best ride with my son to somewhere else while having chocolates on bike's basket. It would be a best surprise ever made.

To us, summer weekends are all about getting out and spending time together. We keep an overnight bag in our cars and we just load up a camera, small cooler with drinks and snacks and go exploring. No set destination just turning on roads we have never been and seeing where we end up. If we are too far from home we get a hotel room for the night. Our son loves the adventures, we talk alot and see many wonderful sights and wherever we end up my son takes a memory rock from the places we visit. Many times it only costs us a half tank of gas for this great bonding adventure.
