Almost half of my freelance work now focuses on creating party-based content for a few different spaces, and I couldn't be more thrilled about this. To be able to spend my days immersed in articles, research and projects related to food and parties is a dream, so thank you to all for reading and sharing my ideas!
Now, have you seen this month's edition of Party Savvy? I came up with a simple tea party that makes for the easiest of birthday celebrations. It would also be lovely for a baby or wedding shower, Mother's Day gathering or just an ordinary afternoon garden party.
My favourite element of this party was the cake. The tissue paper toppers elevate it to new heights - literally - yet require little effort making this a simple way to decorate an regular birthday cake.
While the cake is my favourite party of this fete, coming in a close second are the cupcakes, which have been baked in silicone tea cups and iced to perfection. Alternatively, you can plop ordinary cupcakes into a vintage teacup, and ice it to cover the small gap between the cupcake and china. If you do this, consider removing the liners from the cupcakes and eating the confection with a spoon.
The infused ice cubes are a nice touch, and lightly flavour the pink lemonade with a punch of mint and/or additional citrus. And what would a tea party be without scones? These ones are easy to make, and look lovely when topped with whipped butter rosettes.

How did you make those cake poms as toppers??

The tissue paper cake toppers are adorable, as are the cupcakes served inside the teacups. Great ideas that can easily transfer to any type of party.
