Food for Thought: The Week in Review

Banana bread scones

Internet TV shows, funny pranks, secrets for easy entertaining in the cold weather months, and the math behind which pasta to use for which sauce all caught my eye this week. Happy weekending! My plans include making another new dinner and organizing the menu for Jackson's birthday party dinner next week. 

  • Stromboli has been on my must-make list for a while now. 
  • Jamie Oliver's Food Tube starts on Monday! (I can't wait to see this)

This is more of a mental memo for the teen years, of course, but I'm putting it into practice now. Should you feel inclined to do the same, I might suggest these chocolate chip cookie cups as a good starting point. To make them, press your favourite cookie dough into a muffin tin - about 2 tablespoons per cup - and bake them for 10-15 minutes, depending on your recipe. Turkey Burgers with Avocado Relish Usually around this time of year we start to crave burgers. It's been several months since the bbq was tucked away, and while I'm not opposed to cooking them indoors, that method doesn't quite deliver the same flavour as the outdoor charcoal grilling technique.
